Ex-WNBA Player Candice Wiggins Says Everyone Bullied Her Hard For Being Straight Since The League Is 98% Gay

Mic – Retired WNBA player Candice Wiggins said she was bullied during her time in the league — for being straight.

Wiggins told the San Diego Union-Tribune in an interview published Monday that she was a target because of her heterosexual identity. “Me being heterosexual and straight, and being vocal in my identity as a straight woman was huge,” the former Minnesota Lynx guard said. “I would say 98% of the women in the WNBA are gay women. It was a conformist type of place. There was a whole different set of rules they [the other players] could apply.”

Wiggins, 30, retired in March after an eight-year professional career that included stints on the the Minnesota Lynx, Tulsa Shock, Los Angeles Sparks and the New York Liberty. She told the Union-Tribune she “didn’t like the culture inside the WNBA” and criticized other players for what she called attempts to “mirror” the attitudes of male players.

“So many people think you have to look like a man, play like a man to get respect,” Wiggins told the Union-Tribune. “I was the opposite. I was proud to a be a woman, and it didn’t fit well in that culture.” Wiggins said she experienced “jealousy and competition” from other players and that people “deliberately” tried to hurt her.

Poor Candice Wiggins, courageously just trying to suck and fuck all the dick she can without the judging eyes of the lesbians in the WNBA. It’s shameful really, a big blow to heterosexual rights. But even more than that, it’s proof of one obvious piece of the world that people forget: Whoever has the power is going to be a shithead to those who don’t. It’s like the famous Stanford Prison Experiment, they separate kids into groups of prisoners and prison guards and, almost immediately, the kids playing prison guard started abusing power, getting violent, doing all the worst possible things imaginable with their newfound power. It didn’t matter their background, whether it was people they knew, the simple class distinction made them treat the people differently in a completely unexpected way.

And I’d bet that’s exactly what’s going on in the WNBA too. Gay players, coaches, front offices, to them the norm is their lifestyle. You mix in the fact that they’re probably a bunch of bull-headed alpha female types given that they’re professional athletes and it’s not at all shocking that they’d treat poor balls-lovin Candice Wiggins as a pariah. I’m a little surprised it’d go to that extent where she feels uncomfortable and left the league because, you know, being gay people they should probably be at least slightly more tolerant. But the actual content here? Not at all shocking. If you’re a straight chick in the WNBA, you either swim with the fish and lick things that taste like them or you sink all alone, the sweet embrace of male genitalia the only thing you have left to keep you afloat.

It’s a gay world out there, Candice. I’m just glad you made it out alive.
